A quick and secure alternative to exchange files.
Pando is an innovating system to exchange files that tries to gather the advantages of the
torrents with those of the
direct download. Instead of performing the
download directly
peer to peer, there is the mediation of a
central server to which the files that we want to share have to be uploaded, each of which can't exceed 1 GB in size.
In exchange, the uploader receives a small file with the
Pando extension that, like in a
torrent,
contains the necessary data to locate and download the file uploaded to the server by means of Pando.
There are countless
opinion forums and blogs in which the people share their pandos, and even though it isn't one of the most extended system it is possible to find the most recent files.
Pando can provide a piece of code that can be viewed as a box with the name, an image and the
download link that is rather nice if used as an advert over Internet.
The files uploaded to the server have a limited existence before being deleted, so if we want to share anything with our friends we better send the the
Pando file directly so that they can
download the program or document we have uploaded.
Pando's speed is rather acceptable,
only occupying the bandwidth that it requires, and it increases considerably if we subscribe to the Pro version, that we will have to pay.
